Tania S. Malik, J.D. is an entrepreneur and a lawyer whose focus for the last 23 years has been in healthcare. For the last 20 years, she expanded her attention to telemedicine solutions and started or helped to start 5 health care companies to facilitate online patient-provider interactions for primary care, mental health treatment, and naturopathic and integrated medicine.
Tania began her career prosecuting insurance fraud and then became an Administrative Law Judge for the State of Georgia. Her last conventional job was with PricewaterhouseCoopers. In 1998, Tania began her entrepreneurial ventures by helping to build a technology platform to connect physicians and patients. At that time, allowing physicians to treat patients without the benefit of a physical exam was quite controversial and she honed her legal skills as she traveled the country appearing in front of different medical boards to argue the benefits of telemedicine.
She has built various businesses to connect patients with physicians to increase access. In 2007, she started COPE Today, www.copetoday.com, a telemental health company which was acquired in 2013 by MindCare Solutions Group (www.mindcaresolutions.com) and she currently sits on the Board of Directors.
She is a partner and Investor Relations Chief for Bluedoor (www.bluedoor.us) and ready to start another telehealth company and sit on another Board. One of her dreams is to bring life to Four No More where the mission is to reduce the random acts of violence in America by increasing access to mental health treatment by implementing a 911-like service.
Tania serves as the Chair of the Telemental Special Interest Group for the American Telemedicine Association. She graduated from University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and Georgia State University School of Law and is a member of the bar in North Carolina and Georgia.
